My birthday present!

This was from our seaplane flight over Vancouver, my present from Jonas! The plane took us over the most beautiful water and islands and we got two stops at different islands too! I had about 1 1/2 hour of pure joy watching the glimmer on the water in total sunshine, it's something I'll never forgett.

Stanley Park

This was from our stroll in beautiful and enormous Stanley Park here in Vancouver. This park is truly beautiful, I think this is what's missing in Stockholm! It even had It's own beaches. More photos coming up!

....and photos by me...

Seattle Love

We're in Seattle! been here for almost a week now and tomorrow we're heading for Vancouver, Canada a couple off days, then back to Seattle again. The coolest thing so far must be the poster exhibition/sale at Bumbershoot Festival at Seattle Center where I bought 2, of The White Stripes and The Dirtbombs ( Detroit bands, of course!) and Jonas bought 4 posters off The Mars Volta x2, Radiohead and Queens Of The Stone Age.
Seattle so far has been a real treat, it's so green, clean and small it kinda resembles Stockholm but without the old buildings.
We are busy as bees, so everyday has been full of happenings. I'm so tired of all the new and lovely impressions...I'm off to sleep. Over and out.

Flowery Tuesday

I'm having this terrible terrible cold again, seems I just can't get rid of it. Just my luck....I'm going to Seattle in 2 days so I'm going to have to rest before I guess.

Illustration Friday: Routine

An apple or two everyday should be my routine, but isn't a routine quite boring, at least after a while? It's necessery I know but still...

Painting

I'm painting small tables, big tables, sideboards and walls. They've gotten so ruined and damaged during all these years, and some of them even existed before me. It was time to re-paint, no doubt. This and studying Shiatsu is what I now do on my beginning of vacation. Next week Seattle!!

Dancing Queen

Magic Shop has some tunes now on MySpace and everybody who knows me also knows I have a big love for Detroit rock n' roll and Magic Shop sure delivers that dirty motorcity sound I so adore.
This is me dancing, but not to the Detroit sound but to Kamera.

Flowery Thursday

I should do a blog with all my flowers I've been drawing, really.
Ink pen on paper.

Windy girl

She was made yesterday with graphite pencil.
I'm still "working" on our new home but the progress goes slow, and at my day job I'm working my ass off before our trip to the US so I'm not being very lazy.

Pasta pesto or pasta carbonara for dinner tonight?

Flowery tuesday

I've been away for a week now due to me and J moving to a new place. It's so much nearer everything now and that was my aim for moving so I'm a happy happy happy girl! This means me not drawing or sewing or anything creative this week...well I'm finished with re-painting a small table that's about it. This drawing with my darling swirls was done a week before the move. I love the ladybirds we got here in the summertime so I put three, a little family of ladybirds into the drawing, and oh...my scanner is to small as can see, it cut of the flowers.

Now It's cooking time, pasta dish!

Jukebox love

I would love to have a jukebox like this one filled with old soul and 60's pop music. I was reminded of my jukebox love when I saw Wong Kar Wai's first english movie 'My Blueberry Nights' just of the lack of a jukebox in the movie, so there wasn't any cool 50's/60's music and props which he has in his older films and that was a bit let down for me, though the movie was good with all the lovely colours and great performances from the actors.

Illustration Friday: Enough

A girl in love, and even though love makes her a bit sad she just can't seem to get enough.
Guess from which song the text on the drawing is taken from, click for a close up.

Forgotten crocheted scarf

I crocheted this scarf in april/may and had completely forgotten to put it up here. Yup this happens a lot. Here showing with my pippi dress underneath. These are one of those patterns I came up with when playing with the crocheting hook, I liked it and now I've slowly started on a new green one to crochet on when watching movies at home in my sofa.

I love a foggy landscape, like those of John Bauer's. This is my interpretation of this weeks theme done with ink pen.

Swirl roots

I'm staying at home with a cold and it's not fun when it's high prime summer outside my window. Some good comes out of it.....I can draw! and maybe on my balcony just for a little while....

Today's sewing project

Today's creative project became a bag I've been wanting to do for some time now. I bought the fabric yesterday and it has got a great pattern on it, from Tygverket
it looks like a peacock's tail and I love it. It has got a pocket on the inside for my phone and Ipod. This is the only thing I've done today so I'm feeling somewhat dizzy and exhausted but I must say I'm feeling pretty proud of myself now that it's done. I guess I could have done it quicker but then I didnt have a instruction pattern so I just did what I thought was the right way to do it, I think I need to go a short course on the basics for sewing, that could be such a help and inspiring. Tomorrow is back to work and I'll miss my sewing....I better do some drawing then or I'll go nuts! I just can't help it but I'm really addicted to this creative work.

Eye flowers

I just got home from a lovely weekend at the swedish countryside with friends. It was just perfect! There was barbeque, beer in the sun, cool water and canoeing and I want more of that, now! I belong to those who romanticize nature, I would love having a cabin somewhere in the woods. I just need to win the lottery first.....

La Sombra del Viento

I read this book from start to end like an obsessed, and one of the things that made this entire book so damn good was the first page about the secret cemetery of forgotten books - where unread books enjoy eternal rest. It's about a boy who finds this forgotten book called The Shadow of the Wind and I'm not gonna tell you more, but I think everyone who loves a little mystery should read it. Enjoy!

Crazy about patterns

I've been drawing these different patterns a couple of days now, with my darling swirls. It's so detailed it's crazy but I do love filling up a sheet of paper to the max. I did this yesterday on my many breaks at work and I drawed it with my micron pen. I have a lot more to show, coming up the next couple of days!

I would love to try to wear a shoe like this someday and I'm sure I could stand in these at least....but walk?

Felt bracelets

These I made out of wool. I used water, soap and determination, it wasn't as fun as I had pictured it to be. My hands got too wrinkled and dry like I had taken a bath for a couple of hours.

Earlier today I received Shiatsu from one of my teachers and man did it feel good! When I got home I had to take a nap since my body and mind was too relaxed (?!?) . When I woke up I had some sweet and delicious strawberries , yummie!
