Illustration Friday: Baby
I drew my latest scarf I've crocheted and that scarf is the most advanced crocheting I've done so far, I just have to take some photos of it before I show the result.

Lunch
Badly drawn banana or just hungry??? I think both but hey..in need of putting something up here this will do for now. I've started on a dress and maybe I'll finish it next time I'm free from work, hopefully this sunday after Shiatsu practice at school. It's fun sewing again, I've really missed it but my sewing machine is really crap, I need to buy me a new one. This one I have now is my mothers old machine from the early 80's and parts of it doesn't even work and are about to fall of, really bad!

Plastic bracelet

This is a bracelet I made while watching tv the other week. I made it of the same plastic beads as the coasters. It's great to combine tv and creating, because I found that I get so easily restless not crocheting/knitting/drawing or sewing while watching a show or a movie.Today I gave mom that turquose scarf I made for her. She said she liked it very much and thought it was funny when I reminded her that that yarn was hers in the 80's. I think she even knitted a sweater or something with it....horrible horrible 80's stuff...

Those lips

I've always loved the photos of David Bailey, especially those of the 60's and Swinging London like these ones of Catherine Denevue and Mick Jagger - he actually looks good here!!

One of my favourite films ever - Blow up by Michaelangelo Antonioni is actually largely based on Bailey. Here played by David Hemmings. Antonioni made a lot of other great movies like Zabriskie point. I absolutely love the desert scene with lovers rolling around in the sand which I think The Smashing Pumpkins copied for their 'Today' video.

Striped bag
This I made a long time ago, well about two months ago or so really, like many other finished projects I just haven't scanned or taken photos of. I sewed it together with left over fabrics I've saved forever. It was about time I used some of my enormous pile. I even made a little pocket on the inside with my label attached and some yellow bows at the top ends. It's already becoming a spring favourite bag of mine. I think my next bag project will be in black. Black and simple. It's crazy but I don't think I even got one completely black.

Portable turntable!

Ahhhh this is soo cool!!! Jonas just bought a portable turntable to bring with to picnics this spring and summer or maybe our always half planned roadtrips. It runs with batteries or just a simple power chord. We had the most lovely spring day yesterday. Spend the whole day at söder, eating at Primo ciao ciao (best pizzas), drinking coffee at SOFOs and went shopping at Grandpa's and Pet Sounds. We bought records! It isn't very often I actually go out to buy records. I bought Elephant Candy with The Fun & Games and The Ultimate Of Jackie DeShannon. I'm always asking for The GO when I'm there but they always say no so I'm going have to buy on ebay or amazone. Their Howl On The Haunted Beat You Ride are amazing!
Cell phone photos and The Band playing on the recorder.

Girl with red ribbons
I think I was inspired by my sisters hairstyle a while ago when I did this. It was super-blond almost white and she had all different plaits placed. Anyhow I thought it was so cool. Those eyelids kinda reminds me of her too or a mix of us I guess but those lips are mine even though they only look like that when I'm trying to whistle ( it sounds awful!) Maybe I'll even colour it later.Apr 26, 2008

New graphic books!
My newly arrived graphic books I ordered last week are here! Saurrrrr seemed exited as well, she was up there smelling them! They are Bob Fingerman's 'Beg the question' - which I started reading yesterday (he draws really good shadows), Jessica Abel's 'Mirror Window' and Kim Deitch's Shadowland. They are all from Fantagraphics Books. Whenever I'm at their site I see tons of books I want, I just can't get enough of graphic novels and comic books, I'm such a geek I know!

Cute in every word
I guess I was inspired by some kind of cuteness here? My hand is getting better too, that's a relief. I'm writing in my journal again! I got a little more inspired when I saw Geninne's beautiful journals. I even tried a little crocheting on a scarf I started with before the operation, not to much though, I think I'll give it two weeks for it to be ready.Ink and photostudio.

Inspirational book

New book! It covers all from origins and history to colour plates and biographies of artists.
I love the landscapes of Katsushika Hokusai and Utagawa Hiroshige.
I first got interested in Japanese art when I saw an exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. There was all sorts of beautiful little prints of flowers and birds and also featured the art of Chinese Huang Yongyu.
"We live only for the moment, in which we admire the splendour of the moonlight, the snow, the cherry blossom and the colours of the maple-leaves. We enjoy the day, warmed by wine, without allowing the poverty which stares us in the face to restore our sobriety. In this drifting - like a pumpkin carried along by the current of the river - we do not allow ourselves to be discourages for a moment. This is what is called the floating, fleeting world."

Afternoon flowers
I started painting with acrylics (again with my left hand) but thought I could blend some ink and markers on to it. This is what I first came up with, very clean.
And I ended up with this painting(the rest was made with my weak poor right hand, I cant wait till It's back to normal again!) As I said before, I LOVE to cover a sheet of paper or this case canvas with lines and curves. My favourite thing!

I see you...

I dug out my old acrylic paint, some of them were so dry I had to throw them away. I painted this with my left hand with clear blue acrylic paint. I actually find it easier painting with my left hand than writing, it look so bad! as can be viewed above with my signing.Sausau has taken a bite right up in the left corner, she does that sometimes.

Oh.. just some crocheted things...

This crocheted cap and scarf was made in February but haven't had the time to put them up here until now. After I was finished with the scarf I thought I might as well do a cap with the leftover yarn. They're both of the same green mohair yarn. I really miss crocheting, I can't wait until my right hand heals enough for me to be as crafty as I usually is. Anyway..I can't just sit and watch tv and I'm reading 3 books whereas one is worth mentioning - Black Hole by Charles Burns - a graphic novel, so I have painted a lot. Oh yes PAINTED, I don't very often do that you see..but late last night when everybody else was sleeping and today right out of bed I did some acrylic painting! It was really fun working with a new material, felt good so there is no stopping me painting with my left hand now!
