New handprinted TRIANGLE tote and scarf

Earlier this year over at Instagram, I asked people which color combos they prefer and many told me it was pink and grey which was pretty great as that's one of mine favorites too. I mixed some colors together and voila! the result became a scarf and a tote. The bag on the picture will come in the same pink and grey mix as the scarf below very soon. As i'm in the process of making new scarfs I thought I would ask you about which shape you prefer - square or long rectangular for a scarf/shawl? Comments about this are VERY welcomed! Thanks!

I just had to throw in some gorgeous yellow, my favorite color!

Inspiration for today from Pinterest is: (this would make such a great painting....very tempting!)

Keeping up with my creative life

Things I crafted for myself and friends.

Small drawstring bag, perfect when traveling.

I needed a case for my iphone/glasses and this is what came out. Hand printed and sewn in cotton and felted wool with braided cord.

A toilet/vanity bag in fun and colorful striped cotton.

A crochet blanket/rug for a good friend's little newborn baby girl. It was crocheted in wonderful soft wool that made me want to keep it for myself, to snuggle into on lovely cold Sunday mornings..

Wishing you a creative weekend!

Preview of new textile prints!

A little preview of what's to come this weekend! New pillowcases will be added to the shops tomorrow.
Grey & yellow, coral & grey.

New shawl (test sample) to be continued and worked on...

This new triangle wave shaped pattern was inspired by my love for mountains, geometric shapes and triangles. The printmaking itself is endless in it's variations with this geometric pattern. In some angles it looks like thick hair braids when added together in lines. I'm having so much fun experimenting with it and of course there will be more of everything from scarves, totes, prints and pillowcases coming.

These rectangular scarves are already in the shop. You can find them here: www.latenightdrawing.etsy.com

New pattern, new bags

I recently came up with an new pattern of stripes and triangles. It started as a paper cut by hand slightly different than the result but ended up more pleasing to the eye. I've now used this pattern for more coming work of new scarfs, pillow cushions and totes. Here are just a few of the bag prints I've done lately.

Stripes of gold and black

I'm still loving those stripes and linear patterns as you can see!
Below is some pictures of my latest hand printed and sewn shawls in incredible soft cotton. I think I've found the right fabric to work with when developing my scarfs. I really like cotton jersey and viscose too but I'm more looking for the feeling of being surrounded by clouds, the incredible soft and airy but still warm when needed feeling too.

Nya sjalar i otroligt mjuk och härlig bomull. Jag tror faktiskt att jag funnit det rätta materialet att jobba med, för mig dvs. så det kommer absolut att komma fler sjalar fram mot våren!

In a zig zag haze

I hope you're not getting fed up with my zig zag patterns as I'm still madly in love with them myself especially in these color combos. Which color combinations are your favorites?

It started with some test prints onto fabric.

These were the first pillow cases I printed and sewed only for myself but also as a try to develop it further..

And these are the latest pillow cases I've made, larger in size and slightly more work with patching the fabric bits together and with the closure of a zipper. BUT it was oh so worth it.

And of course, my little helper aka. the muse was by my side as always when creating.

Hope the new year is treating you good!

so more is definitely to come.

Dessa två kommer jag att ha med mig till julmarknaden - Etsy Stockholm den 18/12, men jag kommer att ha med mig massor av annat också, bla. nya smycken, annat ny-tryckt och illustrationer och vykort.
Hoppas vi ses!

New Tote Bags

Things I've been up to since the opening of the exhibition and my last post:

New hand printed bags! With my old zigzag pattern I used on some t-shirts but in new design now on tote bags. Organic cotton printed with non-toxic waterbased inks of course.

Oh and I sold my 200th item on etsy last week! I had my goal on 200 sales for the month of December so I was more than pleased, did a little dance and sent a free tote bag to the buyer.

And I finally had some time over and started on something...

Made a new collage card of The Superhero Cat. Could there perhaps be any interest of making this into a larger print, what do you think? Suggestions are more than welcome!

Wishing you a great weekend friends,

The opening / Exhibition day

So last Saturday was the big opening day for the exhibition. I had a blast with so many lovely visitors and friends joining us for the evening. We had more to celebrate as we found out the day before that we had received cultural support by the city of Stockholm's Culture Committee!!
By us I mean the four of us who made the exhibition together:
and myself (Carolina Grönholm)

Things comes in threes. My "boxed" art paintings and paper lamps/mobiles.

Side by side. My paper mobiles making beautiful shadows. Screenprinted fabric mobiles by the 3 other girls.

I was photographed in front of my work by the ever so lovely and talented T from This Is Just To Say...

Some close-ups.

And the work before...The beginnings of "A excursion" and "Legs".

We decided that the theme for this exhibition was going to be the local surroundings of a part of Stockholm (Skarpnäck). We gathered information and material through the local library and went for excursions in the area. We observed and used patterns from the buildings and streets into our work. Made collage patterns of old maps of the area. Found abandoned tree houses and an old shut down airfield. Visited a skate park made as a project of the heart by a local guy. It was these bits and pieces we put together for the exhibition.

För er som inte kunde komma på vernissage-dagen men fortfarande vill se utställningen så kommer allt att hänga kvar i Skarpnäcks Konsthall till den 17 Oktober.

Wishing you a wonderful week!
