Long time no see + new animated video!

Really! Where do time go? I haven't updated this blog since March? Oh well, I guess I have my reasons for that. Last spring was busy due to work, fun work! As in a new animated music video. It took me a couple of months but I'm really pleased of how it turned out. I directed and animated it frame by frame for the amazing Detroit band Colorwheel.

Here are some selected gifs and stills from beginning of ideation to the video:

The story is about a couple of pigeons on a psychedelic journey on The Paisley Train express.

Thank you for watching! Ps. I still post work in progress pics almost everyday on my Instagram :)

New video release!

The music video I completed last autumn for Sebastian Mullaert has finally been released!

The new year started good!

I started creating the concept look and illustrations in August and together with my fellow Hyper Island alumni and friend Ann, we began animating in September. It was blood, sweat and tears, especially during the last week or so...but I think it turned out really good so it was definitely worth it!

Have a look:

Official video for "Chant de Paris" by Sebastian Mullaert. T

his is a short video version of the original track.

Art Direction & Animation by Carolina Grönholm - http://www.carolinagronholm.com

Animation by Ann Rubin - http://www.annrubin.com

The illustrations got a cleaner look than I usually tend to create but I thought it would look great animated.

Best wishes for 2015!

St. Lucia

Tomorrow is one of the shortest days of the year. The sun rises at 8.30 am in the morning and sets at 2.45 pm. This never ending darkness can be depressing sometimes... Tomorrow is however St.Lucia day here in Sweden! A lovely old tradition of light "festivities" with Lucia in the center with candles in her hair.

Below, originally made for a short commissioned video.

Cornflake Girl

I was commissioned to make a exclusive illustration for Kellogg's. There was also a limited number of 15 signed prints made for a event together with Swedish Red Cross.

Ibland behöver vi "vuxna" bli påminda om den underbara fantasivärld som barn

så enkelt målar upp i sitt inre. Det var min tanke och idé bakom illustrationen.

Pet portraits SALE! LOVE!

I do love drawing someone's loved pet, either it be a dog, cat, hedgehog or the cutest little pig. All animals are wonderful to draw and the most fun is to bring out that special trait from their personality. Or have the pet be in a another place and space in the drawing. One thing I always wished for but never gotten the chance to do is to draw animals in people's clothing.

I've been somewhat close, drawing cats in superhero capes and in roller-skates.

During the rest of July I will draw your beloved pets with clothes, or without, in space,

in the wild, as a lion. Just the way you want it.

I'm reducing the price from $200 USD to $130 USD throughout the entire month in my Etsy shop.

Here are examples of commissioned drawings:

Thank you everyone for your love and support!

Personalized Pet Portrait: Meet George & Piper!

I was thrilled when asked to make another custom drawing, this time of beautiful kittens George and Piper.

Can't tell you how lucky I feel to get paid for drawing cats! I'm sincerely honored every time someone asks me if I can draw their pet for them.

I'm home with a cold and all I feel like doing at this moment is to crawl beside those adorable soft swan babies and sleep sweet dreams...

Cupcakes, cheesecakes and recipes!

Earlier this year I started a collaboration with the Swedish catering business The Homebakery. They make the yummiest cake recipes ever, so imagine me while drawing these.... It made me crave cakes and cookies even more!

These are some of the illustrations I made that will be used as promotion, postcards and recipes. They will be available on their official site when everything is set up.

THE cake?

Red velvet cake....sounds perfectly amazing.

This is an illustration draft from one of my latest collaborations with a local bakery, enjoy!

A busy bee week

I've been away from my blogging here for more than a week, first time ever over these 5 years since I started this blog and I'm not even on a holiday!

I've been and are somewhat still over the top on different sorts of emotions because of big life changes and extremely lot of work. I'm definitely not complaining and are most happy how everything is turning out.

I'm a happy gal right now!

This is a summery of everything since last:

I stole some time from my illustration work to make a new scarf! Feels wonderful and light when wearing, and drapes really beautiful. Graceful wear for summer days!

For more info: SHOP

A little sneek preview of another scarf in progress. Hedgehog galore!

Not much outdoor activities for me with so much work but a bike ride from time to time is a must!

The view from my orange bike dream isn't so bad either.

This is my latest poster for the hiphop event STEEZ in Umeå, Sweden.

This is poster #5 and I made 2 different versions.

Couldn't be more happy to be asked to make another one!

How's your week been?

Sunny greetings from me to you lovelies!

Poster

I've been holding back on showing you this festival poster I did in april due to various reasons, but now it's here!

It's for a children's music festival, organized by Dieselverkstaden here in Stockholm this coming june.

Think I've found a new source for my creative outlet! Poster art.

Right now I'm in the midst of making 2 more poster projects and I couldn't be more happy.

Club poster

Remember the club poster I mentioned I did a couple of weeks ago? It took place last saturday and was a big hit! (one of the makers, friend and dj's of this club told me) and they will have another night of pure old hip hop later this spring.

This is rather new to me - style, music and type of media display but I managed good anyway if I do say so myself and the best part of it - it was fun!
