Into The Wild

Spring is here and i'm feeling the spirit! I'm so inspired to plant and grow new big plants. A friend gave me a little baby sprout the other day and it has been standing in water for a week now. Waiting for those tiny little roots to grow before planting in soil.
Aaaaaand so I illustrated some plants and decided to put them in the Green Isle Studio shoppe!
I just couldn't decide on only one color so I made them in three different ones, have a look here:

and for work in progress pics have a look at our instagram:

Redrawn and Preview

I never redraw something that I've finished, even though I should sometimes...
I think it's just my eagerness to make a new drawing of a recent idea
that keeps me on new paths forward.

But the need to re-organize and change color palette for this one was big - It had to be done!

The new "Home Sweet Home" with detail pics below.

This is something new I'm working on.
Lot's of tree branches and an owl amongst other creatures (not seen here).
I've been working on this for sometime now. I'm just not pleased with it yet, but I'm getting there! Detail pic below.

Pet portraits SALE! LOVE!

I do love drawing someone's loved pet, either it be a dog, cat, hedgehog or the cutest little pig. All animals are wonderful to draw and the most fun is to bring out that special trait from their personality. Or have the pet be in a another place and space in the drawing. One thing I always wished for but never gotten the chance to do is to draw animals in people's clothing.
I've been somewhat close, drawing cats in superhero capes and in roller-skates

During the rest of July I will draw your beloved pets with clothes, or without, in space,
in the wild, as a lion. Just the way you want it.
I'm reducing the price from $200 USD to $130 USD throughout the entire month in my Etsy shop

Here are examples of commissioned drawings:

Thank you everyone for your love and support!

"Paths That Cross" - New animation short finished

So I just finished a new animation short! It feels like a great start of the new year.
Hopefully plenty more of this and new stuff will come.

As always, my inspiration to create comes from music:

Life as a student

So a new chapter in life has begun.
I'm studying Motion Graphics design at Hyper Island here in Stockholm, full time for 1 year.
Already 2 weeks have passed and I've come to understand and feel the intensity of this school.
We've had some interesting lectures on digital media and much more.
There's been a lot of challenges, individual and in small and larger groups.
Lot's of time for reflection and a lot of fun energizers!

We also have lots of fun! Excuse the awful mobile quality...

Poster project

I thought I'd try making my own gig poster for fun and this below is the result. This is not an official gig poster for First Aid Kit just my way of showing my appreciation and admiration for their music.

Jag testade att göra en gig-affisch med First Aid Kit som band eftersom jag tycker att dessa tjejer helt enkelt gör fantastisk musik. Och så gillar jag ju affischer över huvud taget, särskilt gig-affischer.

New handprinted TRIANGLE tote and scarf

Earlier this year over at Instagram, I asked people which color combos they prefer and many told me it was pink and grey which was pretty great as that's one of mine favorites too. I mixed some colors together and voila! the result became a scarf and a tote. The bag on the picture will come in the same pink and grey mix as the scarf below very soon. As i'm in the process of making new scarfs I thought I would ask you about which shape you prefer - square or long rectangular for a scarf/shawl? Comments about this are VERY welcomed! Thanks!

I just had to throw in some gorgeous yellow, my favorite color!

Inspiration for today from Pinterest is: (this would make such a great painting....very tempting!)

Love Birds - New Illustration

My latest illustration "Matrimony" is actually an old ink drawing I remade into something new digital.
You can see the drawing in ink on a necklace pendant here

picture to animation

So many birds! but don't worry, I just got a commission drawing a beautiful long haired cat named Oliver and i'll probably be able to post the drawing here by the end of this week.

On other things, I've joined Pinterest to get inspiration from dreamy landscapes and beaches like this:

Happy Monday!

New illustration: Triangle Mountain

My fascination for mountains continues... How the sun and moon reflects it's light over the rocks and how absolutely amazing the feeling is when watching a starry sky from such a landscape. My inspiration comes from my travels to places like Utah, Bali, Thailand and Hong Kong. Haven't been to New Zealand or Austria yet though!

Winter Wonderland + New Cards

First real snow came yesterday and this is how incredible everything looked like covered under the snow.
It's cold but I don't mind, not when it looks like this outside! And everything lights up! Believe me, it's most necessary these winter months up north.

These pretty wood houses in my neighborhood looks even more pretty under a snow blanket.
Looks almost fairy tale like, don't you think?
My snow fox illustration is now available as cards.

And so is Papa Hedgehog!

This little illustration "Cat On Cushions" is one of my most popular print in shop and are now available as cards, colored ones!

Wishing you a great winter weekend!

I'm an open book

I miss reading a good book. Nowadays it only happens when I'm on a beach vacation and that doesn't happen very often. These days I tend to listen to audio books when drawing. That way I can be productive and have fun while doing it!
In this case of drawing I didn't actually listen to a book (ha!) instead I listened to "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys.
The floating words coming out of the books are "God Only Knows".

I guess I was inspired by the beautiful "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore":

Happy easter lovelies!

Local vintage finds + In search for the perfect desk

So this is what I do when I'm not producing my creative work.
I love to search for pretty vintage things and this week has been all about that, searching the web and going to shops in the area. I thought I'd share some of the things I brought home with me:

2 beautiful and petite plastic rugs. Sau had to inspect and sit on it of course!
I'm pretty sure they will look perfect on the balcony floor this spring/summer.

I found a very groovy Seiko plastic clock in bright red, still with the label (with an owl's head!) of the store. Runs perfect and is completely silent.

And this!...no not really, but perhaps soon. This is what I'm searching high and low for at the moment. The perfect desk. Wouldn't mind that Eames chair to go either...

Desk chair quest
..or everything in this picture..

Majestic Gunni Omann Danish Modern Teak Desk #75 (Denmark, Omann Junn Mobelfabrik, 1955)

Wish me good luck, I'm going on a desk hunt next week and maybe maybe I'll have something to show you in my next post!

Paper lanterns

Today I'll share something that inspires me at this moment and perhaps because I've just been to a friends wedding makes me even more inspired!
Round paper lanterns in wonderful dreamy white or in this wonderful floral palette from Lily Ng.

I wonder what I'll come up with under this inspiration boost I'm having?
If it's any good, I'll post it here.

I made my hair pretty for the wedding (note. it was my friends wedding, not my own ;))

Creative week in pictures

I've started on a new landscape drawing onto beautiful kraft/fiber paper.

Continued on a old drawing of Sau Paw looking very stuck-up.

Bought a new silkscreen!

Back in the screen printing studio after a months absence, oh how I've missed it!
Here's my hedgehogs ready to be heated.

Went on a 3 hours class to learn the dry point technique. It's basically a steel needle engraving. I did this on a thick plastic sheet and this is somewhat similar to engraving onto copper. I managed to do only 1 engraving in 3 hours and there was so many elements...felt very old school which I like but knowing that the engraving is only good for about 10-15 prints before the scratched surface has faded off is somewhat disappointing. But I had fun learning a new craft!

Have a great weekend!

An autumn day

We've had the most beautiful couple of days here in Stockholm lately so I decided to take my camera, my Bubble Crowns and my pretty friend out for a walk. Our destination and an old favorite of mine was Skogskyrkogården,
The Woodland Cemetery. We found our spot beside a yellow birch tree.

In the midst of everything, the most beautiful orange cat came to visit. Luckily for him I actually had some catnip in my pocket from a recent lookout for a homeless cat in the neighborhood, which he did seem to enjoy!

One of the wondrous views from a very special spot at the cemetery.

If you're interested in seeing more from the photo session, have a look in my shop. More will be added continually.
